In 2022, Lawrence Opera Theatre returned in full force with our 13th season, I Wish marking our most ambitious lineup yet. After navigating the challenges of the pandemic, we were back and ready to celebrate the power of live performance. The season featured four concerts, our annual musical theatre cabaret, a chamber opera, a one-act opera, our annual opera scenes and arias concert, and our mainstage production—the company’s first-ever Rossini opera, La Cenerentola (Cinderella). In a true fairy-tale moment, Cenerentola (Cinderella) saw a real-life engagement between our Cinderella and Prince! With a packed schedule of diverse performances, I Wish was a triumphant return, reestablishing our place in the community and bringing magic back to the stage.
