In 2024, Lawrence Opera Theatre celebrated its 15th anniversary with the compelling season theme Heaven & Hell. This milestone season featured our most challenging chamber opera yet, The Path to Heaven by Adam Gorb and Ben Kaye. Tackling this contemporary work presented significant artistic hurdles, not only due to its complexity but also because of its emotionally charged subject matter, exploring the Holocaust and the harrowing experiences of Jews under Nazi persecution. Through this powerful production, we aimed to honor the resilience of the human spirit while engaging our audience in a vital conversation about history and humanity. 2024 also saw us proudly host our first annual fundraising gala, Glitter and Be Gala! Overall, we catered to our widest audience yet, with over 600 individuals experiencing the magic of our season!
